Students studying ecology and sustainability, we are writing about our experiences in the Desert Oasis Teaching Garden and our understanding of how gardens can teach us about how to live on the planet without depleting its bounty for future generations.

نحن صف علم البيئة و الإستدامة نكتب عن تجاربنا في حديقة المدرسة التعليمية المسماة “واحة الصحراء” وانّ هذه التجربة ستعلمنا كيف نزرع من دون ان نستهلك موارد الطبيعة الارض و نحفظها للاجيال القادمة.

My name is Matt, and I am a multi-instrumentalist, rapper, and an artificial music-maker. My biggest dream is to send a message powerful enough for the whole world to see, as I preform at my biggest shows. I’m hoping to see you there too. I believe that the earth is a very special place for us, that of which should not be abused. Although the condition of the rising seas is irreversible, we can slow down the process and live happily with the planet for as long as possible. The earth is a perfect contrast to my inorganic lifestyle. Let’s keep it alive for a little while longer, shall we?

Hey, what’s up! I’m Jordan! I love my religion and America. Go U.S.A! I love camping and being outside. I look forward to learning more about gardening in the dry climate of New Mexico. Nature has always intrigued me and now I get to learn more about that. Very excited to see our school create more gardens and amazing flower spots. God bless America

Besides that, I love writing, so I am excited to document the growth and development of the amazing Desert Oasis Garden in this blog. Hi, I’m Elisabeth! Studying ecology and environmental sustainability are some of my greatest passions. Not only are they fascinating topics, but the discoveries we make from studying them can help many people, including ourselves. We have been given one beautiful planet to provide for and sustain us, but it is our job to reciprocate this. We must protect and take care of our planet, because it is unique. We are given just one change with just this one planet, and we must all do our part to maintain the planet for ourselves, each other, and the generations to come. The DOT Garden is a fantastic project that I want to support for the learning experience of myself, my peers, and students to come.

I’m Ezra and I love playing guitar and blowing glass. I love being outside and I hope to see the Desert Oasis Teaching Garden grow and thrive during the rest of my time here at this school.

I’m Allison, and I’m inspired by being outside. I’m glad to be a part of the garden to watch it develop into a space of many uses.

My name is Greta, and I am a student farmer participating in the construction of the Desert Oasis Teaching Garden. Currently, our planet is facing long-term effects of industrialized agriculture. Because of these circumstances, I believe that sustainable agriculture is incredibly valuable, and will positively impact the Earth if it is more widely practiced. By sustainably growing plants within the Desert Oasis Teaching Garden, I feel as though I am contributing to a cause that will hopefully preserve our planet, and influence others to do the same.
اسمي غريتا و انا طالبة و مزارعة اشارك في انشاء حديقة في المدرسة اسمها “واحة الصحراء” التعليمية. الان ارضنا تواجه مشكلة كبيرة بسبب الزراعة الصناعية. بسبب هذه الظروف، انا اعتقد ان الزراعة المستدامة قيمة كثيرا و ان سيكون لها تأثيرا ايجابيا على كوكب الارض اذا استُخدم بشكل اكبر.بزراعة خضروات بشكل باستخدام الموارد المتوفرة لدينا في واحة الصحراء اشعر باني اشارك في شيء سيساعد في حفظ موارد كوكبنا و سنكون قدوة للاخرين ليعملوا نفس الشيء
اسمي ماريا. أحب أن أزرع، خصوصا لأن عندي حديقة خلف البيت. واحد من الأهداف في حياتيأن أجد طريقة للزرعة تعتمدعلى الاستدامة، وفي نفس الوقت أحصل على مأكولات لعائلتي. و تعليم كيفية عمل واحة في الصحراء كمورد مثالي

اسمي ميغان و أنا معاون كبير من العادات الصحية للبيئة. أنا أحب العالم و كل ما يفعله بالنسبة لنا، و اعتقد ان هذه الحديقة سيكون لها تأثير إيجابي على المدرسة. أنا أهتم بالبيئة لأنني أريد لأطفالي في المستقبل و الأجيال القادمة أن يعيشوا في عالم سعيد و صحي حيث الحياة غير مهددة بظاهرة الاحتباس الحراري ، أو استنزاف الموارد الطبيعية.
غابي:
انا غابي. حقاً اؤمن ان الطبيعة مثل امنا. الطبيعة تحملنا و تهتم بنا لكن مثلالام يبدو اننا لا نعرف قيمتها حتى
نعيش بدونها. هذا سبب دراستي للارض و الاستدامة, و ارغب من الاشخاص ان يفعلوا نفسالشيء.
